Some Bibles use the word gentleness, others use the word meekness when talking about the eighth fruit of God's Spirit.
To be gentle is to be meek.
When Jesus came to the earth He came in meekness.Mtt. 21:5; Mt 12:20
When people treated Him badly Jesus didn't get angry or try and get even.
Mr.14:60-61; Mr 15:19

Instead Jesus asked God to forgive them for what they had done to Him.
Luke 23:34
God wants us to forgive others, just like He forgives us.
Mt 6:12, 14-15
Jesus was meek, but he was also very strong.
Jesus wasn't afraid to face a problem and deal with it.
Mt 21:12
He wasn't afraid to tell people when they had done something wrong.
John 8:44
When someone does something wrong we, like Jesus, don't just look the other way, but deal with it in meekness; gently correcting the person who has erred.
We don't gossip to others about what someone did wrong, but we show the one who has made the mistake how to live by our good example, being careful not to make the same mistake they did.
Ga. 6:1
In meekness (gentleness) we give advice to those that have done something wrong; perhaps they will be sorry for the bad things they did and turn to God.
2Ti. 2:25

The Bible tells us that Moses was, at one time, the meekest man on the face of the whole earth.

God wants Christians today to practice meekness and gentleness.
Eph 4:1-2; Col. 3:12-13; Zeph. 2:3
God has very special promises to those who are meek/gentle.
When we are humble (meek and gentle) God hears our prayers.
Ps 10:17
God will teach the meek His ways.
Psa. 25:9
The Lord takes care of (sustains - lifts up) the meek.
Psa. 147:6 The meek will eat and be satisfied.
Psa. 22:26
God will beautify the meek with salvation.
Psa. 149:4
At the time of Christ's return the meek will rule on the earth with Him.
Psa. 37:11; Matt. 5:5; Re 1:6; 5:10
To be meek and gentle means that we are willing to forgive others.
II Cor. 10:1
Remember, a talebearer tells secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.
Prov. 11:13
It's not tattle-taleing to tell others when someone has hurt you.
God doesn't want people hurting others.
If someone is doing something to you that isn't right, you should tell your parents or a teacher, but name calling and speaking evil of others just to be spiteful is wrong. Name calling and gossiping hurts others and that's against God's law of love.

When no one is speaking evil of others there is peace.
Prov. 26:20
God tells His children not to tattle-tale, and fight, but to be meek, showing gentleness to all people.

Being a Christian takes work, but it is GOOD work.

We should remember that just as God has forgiven us our sins we should forgive others.

As Moses prayed for Israel and as Jesus prayed for his followers

we should pray for others.

We should study God's word so that we can humbly help those who ask us about our believes.
