THE LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST

After Gabriel left the Spirit of God placed the Holy Seed inside of Mary.

Then Mary went to the city of Judea to visit Elizabeth.

As Mary stepped into the home of Zacharias and Elizabeth she called out a greeting. When Elizabeth heard Mary's voice the baby inside her moved.

Elizabeth became filled with God's Holy Spirit and began to speak.

"Blessed are you among women," she told Mary. "And blessed is the fruit of your womb. Who am I that the mother of my Lord should pay me a visit? As soon as I heard your voice the baby I am carrying inside me leaped for joy. Blessed is she who believes that God will do for her everything He promises."

Mary answered Elizabeth.

"My soul praises the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God, my Savior. For I am His humble servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for God has done a great thing for me by allowing me to carry His Son. Holy is God's name. He gives mercy to all those who respect Him. Those who are proud, and think that they are important, He has scattered. He has brought down rulers from their thrones and lifted up the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things, while He sent those who trust in their own riches away hungry. He will remember His promise to Abraham and will be merciful to his descendants forever."

Mary stayed with Elizabeth for three months, helping Elizabeth during the last months of her pregnancy.

Then Mary returned to her own home.
