Daddy-Long-Legs is a book about a young orphan girl, Jerusha Abbott, who is unexpectedly sent to college by an unknown benefactor who is a trustee of the orphanage where she grew up. The benefactor requires that she write him a letter every month but he will never write her back. The story is composed of a prolog and Jerusha's seventy-six letters, some short and some long, but all amusing and heartfelt.
